Core Responsibilities
Design and conduct engaging botany lessons aligned with the school curriculum, ensuring comprehensive coverage of plant biology, taxonomy, and related ecological concepts. Develop and implement practical experiments, field trips, and hands-on activities to enhance students’ understanding of botany. Assess student performance through continuous evaluation, including internal exams, projects, and practical assessments, while maintaining transparency and fairness.
Additional Duties
Collaborate with the science department to integrate botany topics across interdisciplinary projects. Participate in school events, workshops, and extracurricular activities related to environmental science and plant conservation. Support the development of school resources, such as lab equipment or botanical gardens, to enrich the learning experience. Act as a mentor for students interested in botany clubs or research initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Botany, Zoology, or a related field with at least two years of teaching experience. Possess a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification to qualify for the position. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, prior experience in teaching at the secondary or higher secondary level is beneficial. A passion for plant science and a commitment to fostering curiosity in young learners are essential.
