Job Description
Dance Teacher Dance Teacher Job in New Delhi, Delhi | School Recruitment
At Gd Goenka School, we believe every child’s day should begin with energy and end with joy. Our corridors echo with laughter from the music room, the sports field, and the dance studio where creativity flows as freely as the Delhi morning breeze. Teachers here don’t just teach—they inspire, and our dance floor is no exception. Whether it’s a classical recital or a hip-hop freestyle session, we celebrate movement as a universal language that builds confidence, discipline, and friendship.
What it's like to work here
You’ll join a close-knit team where senior dance teachers mentor newcomers during pre-monsoon planning weeks and share costume tips for the annual inter-house festival. The staff room often buzzes with talk of a recent student performance that moved everyone to tears or a new choreography idea born over chai and samosas. Weekends sometimes find us at Hauz Khas Village for a quick recce of upcoming event venues or at a local studio picking up fresh moves to bring back to class.
Your role in the community
You will plan and deliver weekly Dance Teacher Job in New Delhi sessions for grades 1 through 12, tailoring content from folk styles to contemporary fusion. You will choreograph group pieces for the annual Sports Day and Founders’ Day, coordinating with music and costume teams to ensure every costume shimmers under the stage lights. You will organize lunchtime “Dance Breaks” in the courtyard, letting students unwind with Bollywood or Bhangra between math and science periods. You will assess students through simple rubrics that value expression over perfection, giving every learner a moment to shine. You will document progress in a shared digital folder so parents can see their child’s growth from shy shuffle to confident pirouette. You will collaborate with the physical education head to integrate rhythm and coordination into general fitness goals. You will represent Gd Goenka School Dance Teacher Vacancy in New Delhi at local workshops and inter-school festivals, raising our banner high. You will occasionally lead teacher wellness sessions—imagine a salsa circle after Diwali marking the end of a long term.
Who fits in here
You need a graduate degree in dance, fine arts, or performing arts, plus at least three years of classroom or studio teaching experience. A background in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, contemporary, or hip-hop is welcome; versatility across genres is even better. While B.Ed or D.El.Ed is preferred, a strong portfolio and a knack for connecting with children can open the door. Patience, a playful spirit, and the ability to turn Delhi’s summer heat into creative energy are essential.
What you get
Remuneration is no bar for deserving candidates and is benchmarked against top Delhi schools. Benefits include subsidized meals in the staff cafeteria, annual dance-conference leave with full support, and access to the school’s well-equipped studio even during vacations. You’ll also receive a metro travel pass and reimbursement for props like ghungroos or ballet shoes used for classroom activities.
How to become part of the team
Send your CV, a two-minute video showcasing your signature style, and a brief note on how you’d adapt dance education for Indian schoolchildren to the HR portal. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a live audition in the Gd Goenka School auditorium where we’ll dance together and see how your energy lifts the room.
