History (PGT) Vacancy in Rohini, North West Delhi, Delhi
Delhi Heritage School
Job Description
Delhi Heritage School invites a passionate PGT History Teacher to join its vibrant campus in Rohini, North West Delhi. This role is designed for a dedicated educator who can inspire students with engaging lessons on India’s rich historical tapestry, from ancient kingdoms to modern governance. The position offers a competitive salary of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000 per month, aligning with the institution’s commitment to excellence in education.
Delhi Heritage School expects a PGT History Teacher to bring deep subject knowledge, particularly in Indian history, culture, and key historical events. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in History or a related discipline, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification to ensure strong pedagogical skills. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, a valid teaching certificate adds significant value.
The role demands expertise in designing lesson plans that blend theory with practical examples, such as analyzing primary sources or discussing historical figures like Chandragupta Maurya or the freedom struggle. The teacher will also prepare students for board exams by reinforcing concepts through interactive discussions, case studies, and field visits—like exploring Delhi’s historical landmarks to contextualize lessons.
Engaging with diverse learners is crucial. The PGT must adapt teaching methods to suit different ability levels, ensuring every student grasps the significance of history beyond rote memorization. Collaboration with the History department and cross-subject coordination will also be part of the responsibilities, particularly in aligning historical themes with social science curricula.
Delhi Heritage School values creativity in the classroom. The PGT will be expected to develop multimedia resources, such as timelines, maps, or documentary clips, to enhance student engagement. Regular feedback sessions with students and parents will help refine teaching strategies, ensuring continuous improvement in historical understanding.
Experience in teaching at the secondary level is preferred, with at least two years of relevant experience. A track record of student success, whether through academic achievements or extracurricular contributions, will be highly regarded. The ideal candidate will also stay updated on educational trends, including the latest NCERT syllabus updates and innovative teaching methodologies.
The position is full-time, with the PGT expected to contribute to the school’s academic and extracurricular programs. Participation in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and school events will be part of the role’s expectations. Delhi Heritage School fosters a collaborative environment where history teachers can grow professionally while making a lasting impact on students’ understanding of India’s past.
