Key Responsibilities
Own the Legal Studies curriculum for classes 11 and 12, ensuring alignment with CBSE guidelines and contemporary legal education trends. Curate syllabus content, design assessments, and introduce case-study-based learning to enhance student engagement and critical thinking. Monitor academic progress and mentor junior teachers to improve instructional quality across the department.
Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies such as moot court simulations, legal research projects, and inter-house debates to foster practical understanding of constitutional law, criminal procedure, and human rights. Integrate current legal developments into classroom discussions to make learning relevant and dynamic. Regularly review and update teaching materials to reflect changes in legal frameworks and examination patterns.
Prepare students for board examinations with focused revision schedules, sample papers, and one-on-one doubt-clearing sessions. Maintain a structured academic calendar and ensure timely completion of syllabi without compromising depth or rigor. Track student performance trends and provide targeted interventions to improve board results consistently.
Oversee the selection and procurement of legal textbooks, reference materials, and digital resources for the department. Recommend budget allocations for Legal Studies and ensure optimal utilization of classroom and AV facilities. Collaborate with the school library to expand access to legal journals, Supreme Court judgments, and online databases.
Mentor newly joined Legal Studies teachers through classroom observations, feedback sessions, and collaborative lesson planning. Organize departmental meetings to share best practices and address common challenges in teaching complex legal concepts. Encourage a culture of continuous professional development among faculty members.
Represent L.b.s School at inter-school legal events, moot court competitions, and teacher forums in South Delhi and NCR. Build partnerships with local law colleges, NGOs, and judicial authorities to provide students with exposure to real-world legal practice. Coordinate guest lectures by practicing advocates, retired judges, and legal scholars to enrich the curriculum.
Ensure strict adherence to CBSE norms, including assessment schedules, record maintenance, and reporting standards. Prepare and submit academic reports, attendance data, and student portfolios to the school leadership on time. Implement school-wide initiatives such as value education and constitutional literacy programs under the Legal Studies banner.
Who Can Apply
Postgraduate in Law with a minimum of five years of teaching experience in Legal Studies at the senior secondary level. B.Ed is mandatory for this position, and candidates with TET or CTET certification will be preferred during selection. Prior experience in curriculum development or departmental leadership is highly desirable.
Familiarity with CBSE Class 11-12 Legal Studies syllabus and examination patterns is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong subject knowledge in constitutional law, criminal law, and international law.
