Role Summary
The school needs a Post Graduate Teacher in History to anchor Classes XI–XII board preparation, deliver thematic units that link modern Delhi with ancient trade routes, and mentor students for competitive exams. You will coordinate with the Humanities HOD on common lesson banks, set term-wise assignments aligned to CBSE sample papers, and conduct Saturday doubt sessions for students aiming for JNU entrance tests.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and teach 18 contact hours per week, including two sections of Class XII History.
Design monthly enrichment sheets that connect medieval Sultanate chronicles to contemporary urban heritage walks in Hauz Khas.
Prepare at least two full-length mock tests each term and analyse common mistakes in class.
Guide two students each year for history projects under CBSE’s “Project Based Assessment” format.
Collaborate with the Geography department to run a joint seminar on “Silk Route to Delhi Metro.”
Maintain an open Google Classroom where past years’ top answers and examiner comments are uploaded.
Attend weekly department meetings to review syllabus pacing and share resources.
Serve as a first point of contact for parents concerned about board performance.
Eligibility
Postgraduate degree in History with minimum 55% marks from a UGC-recognised university.
B.Ed or M.Ed with History as a teaching subject.
Minimum three years of full-time History Teaching Job in South West Delhi or equivalent urban context.
Familiarity with CBSE curriculum, sample papers, and DIKSHA platform preferred.
Experience in PGT History Teacher Vacancy in South West Delhi setups handling 100+ students per section is an advantage.
Work Culture
Lessons begin at 8:00 a.m.; the department gathers at 7:45 a.m. for tea and a quick look at the previous day’s CBSE updates.
