Punjabi (PGT) Vacancy in Patel Nagar, West Delhi, Delhi
Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School
Job Description
About This Role
Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School in Patel Nagar uses smart boards, Google Classroom, and a school-wide LMS to run Punjabi classes with digital worksheets, audio-visual lessons, and live doubt-solving sessions. Every PGT Punjabi Teacher here plans blended units that mix textbook study with online quizzes and recorded lectures so students can review at home. The department keeps a shared drive of sample answer sheets, previous board papers, and model scripts to keep grading consistent and transparent.
How You Will Teach
You will convert Punjabi prose and poetry into interactive smart-board lessons with embedded audio clips of correct pronunciation and rhythm. Google Classroom will host daily assignments, reading logs, and peer-review forums where students annotate each other’s essays in Punjabi. The LMS tracks participation, assignment completion, and quiz scores so you can spot weak areas before term exams. At least one class per week becomes a blended session: half in the lab for digital storytelling, half in the classroom for script practice.
Day-to-Day Duties
Create weekly lesson plans aligned with CBSE Punjabi syllabus and upload them to the LMS with direct links to supplementary videos and worksheets. Record 10-minute micro-lectures on tough topics like “ਵਾਰਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ” and post them on Google Classroom for absent students. Grade assignments in the LMS, leaving voice comments in Punjabi so pronunciation feedback is immediate. Organize a monthly online debate in Punjabi where students argue on set topics using the discussion forum. Maintain a digital portfolio of top student essays and share it with parents through the parent portal every fortnight. Run Saturday doubt sessions on Zoom for students who need extra help before term exams. Attend weekly department meetings where teachers demo new apps like Canva for Punjabi poster making. Update the shared Google Sheet of board-paper solutions after every test so the entire department benefits.
Eligibility
Postgraduate degree in Punjabi with minimum 55% marks from a recognized Indian university. B.Ed or M.Ed in Punjabi language teaching is mandatory. Three years of full-time Punjabi teaching experience at senior secondary level, preferably with CBSE board exposure. NET/SET qualified candidates will be preferred. Familiarity with CBSE sample papers and marking schemes for Punjabi is necessary.
Skills We Value
Fluency in digital tools: Google Classroom, LMS, smart board software, Canva, Zoom, and basic audio editing for Punjabi pronunciation guides. Ability to design online quizzes in Hindi/Punjabi using Google Forms or Kahoot. Comfort with creating blended lessons that mix offline script practice with online content delivery. Experience mentoring junior Punjabi teachers in technology integration. Willingness to attend quarterly ICT workshops organized by the school.
What You Get
Monthly gross salary between Rs.30,000 and Rs.50,000 based on experience and qualifications. In-house professional development sessions every term to upgrade digital teaching skills. Free transport for teachers residing in West Delhi zones. Subsidized meals in the school canteen and access to the staff resource library stocked with Punjabi literature and pedagogy books.
