At Atmiya Vidya Niketan in Ahmedabad, we seek a dedicated PGT Sociology Teacher to guide students through advanced sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social issues. This role demands expertise in shaping critical thinking around social structures, cultural dynamics, and societal change, ensuring alignment with modern academic standards.
The teacher will design and deliver lectures on core sociology subjects like social stratification, urbanization, family structures, and social movements. Coursework may include field studies, case analyses, and discussions on ethical dilemmas in sociology. You’ll also prepare students for board exams by integrating real-world examples and interdisciplinary connections, particularly in humanities and social sciences.
Assessment will involve structured exams, project-based evaluations, and participation in debates or seminars. Assignments could include analyzing primary data (surveys, interviews) or writing research-based essays on topics like gender roles, migration, or social inequality. Your ability to translate complex theories into accessible yet rigorous content will be key.
For this position, a postgraduate degree in Sociology is mandatory, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Two years of teaching experience at the senior secondary or equivalent level is preferred, though not mandatory. While TET/CTET certifications are not strictly required, they would be an asset.
The role offers a competitive salary of Rs.37,000 to Rs.60,000 per month, with the opportunity to contribute to Atmiya Vidya Niketan’s commitment to holistic education in Gujarat.
