Core duties
Teaching geography at the senior secondary level, covering topics like physical geography, human geography, and environmental science with a focus on Gujarat’s unique landscapes and cultural geography.
Developing and implementing innovative teaching methods, including field studies, mapping exercises, and case studies to make complex concepts accessible.
Collaborating with the geography department to align syllabus content with national and state education standards, ensuring relevance to current academic trends.
Assisting in organizing geography-related extracurricular activities, such as science fairs, quiz competitions, and guest lectures by geographers or environmental scientists.
Preparing students for competitive exams by offering additional study sessions and resources tailored to their needs.
Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and participation in geography-related activities.
Qualification and experience
A postgraduate degree in Geography from a recognized university is mandatory. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is required for teaching positions at Floreat Wings International School.
Experience in teaching geography to students aged 14 to 18 years is essential, with at least three years of relevant classroom experience.
While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, having it will be an advantage, as it demonstrates compliance with state teaching regulations.
A passion for geography and an ability to communicate complex geographical concepts clearly are critical for this role.
Compensation and location
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of Rs.45,000 to Rs.70,000 per month, along with benefits such as a performance-based allowance and access to professional development opportunities. The PGT Geography Teacher will be based in Morbi, Gujarat, and will report directly to the geography department head or subject coordinator.
