What You Will Do
Oversee the planning and execution of art and craft programs at Mahatma Buddha International School. Develop yearly calendars for exhibitions, competitions, and community art projects. Ensure activities are age-appropriate and aligned with school values.
Manage the art and craft studio and its resources including materials, tools, and display areas. Maintain inventory, place procurement orders, and ensure a safe, organized workspace for students and staff. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of art supplies.
Lead a team of art instructors and support staff. Conduct regular team meetings, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress on projects. Provide guidance on best practices in art education and ensure consistent quality across all activities.
Organize inter-house and inter-school art competitions and exhibitions. Represent the school at regional art forums and collaborate with external artists for workshops. Promote student participation and recognize outstanding talent through awards and showcases.
Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with school policies during art activities. Conduct risk assessments for workshops involving materials like clay, paints, or cutting tools. Train staff on emergency procedures and safe handling of art supplies.
Document and report on art program outcomes, student progress, and resource utilization. Prepare quarterly reports for school leadership and suggest improvements based on feedback. Maintain records of student portfolios and exhibition participation.
Coordinate with other departments to integrate art into school events like annual days, festivals, and cultural programs. Work with the academic team to align art projects with curriculum themes and learning objectives.
Engage parents through art exhibitions, parent-teacher meetings, and community outreach programs. Share updates on student artwork and encourage parental involvement in school art initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduate in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Applied Arts, or a related field from a recognized university. Minimum three years of experience in art administration, art studio management, or a leadership role in art education.
Familiarity with school-level art programs and curriculum planning is essential. Experience in organizing art exhibitions, workshops, or competitions at school level is preferred.
Knowledge of art materials, tools, and safety practices is required. Basic understanding of budgeting and resource management in an educational setting is an added advantage.
