Job Description
PGT Music Teacher – Maitree International School, Gurugram
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging PGT level music lessons in line with the school’s curriculum, catering to diverse student abilities. Conduct practical sessions on vocal, instrumental, and theory components, ensuring safety of instruments and equipment. Organise and supervise school concerts, cultural events and inter‑school competitions, fostering student participation and talent showcase. Provide timely feedback, assess student progress through assignments and examinations, and maintain accurate academic records.
Teaching Standards
Adhere to the standards set by the school’s academic board, preparing lesson plans that reflect contemporary pedagogical practices in music education. Maintain a disciplined yet creative classroom environment, encouraging curiosity and respect for musical traditions. Uphold punctuality, professionalism, and collaborative spirit when interacting with colleagues, parents and administration.
Student Development
Mentor students in developing technical skills, musical appreciation and performance confidence. Identify gifted learners and recommend enrichment opportunities such as workshops or external music festivals. Support students in preparing for board examinations and external music certifications.
Administrative Duties
Maintain inventory of instruments, sheet music and audio‑visual aids, coordinating with the administrative staff for timely procurement and maintenance. Participate in faculty meetings, contribute to curriculum reviews and school development initiatives. Assist in organising annual cultural festivals and music‑related extracurricular clubs.
Qualifications
Post‑graduate degree in Music along with B.Ed or D.El.Ed. Preference given to candidates who have cleared TET/CTET, though it is not mandatory.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the PGT level in a recognized school setting, demonstrating effective classroom management and student assessment skills.
Salary
Rs.40,000 – Rs.65,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
