Daily Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging science lessons that align with the curriculum while ensuring students grasp fundamental concepts. Conduct practical demonstrations and experiments to enhance learning, especially for hands-on subjects like chemistry and physics. Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide immediate feedback to address any difficulties. Maintain a clean and well-organized classroom environment, ensuring all lab equipment and resources are available for use.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Prepare detailed lesson plans incorporating modern teaching methods and real-world applications of science principles. Collaborate with other teachers to design interdisciplinary projects that encourage critical thinking and teamwork. Participate in school events, science fairs, and competitions to foster a culture of scientific curiosity among students. Keep up-to-date with educational updates, new teaching techniques, and curriculum changes to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Periodic Responsibilities
Attend parent-teacher meetings to discuss student performance and areas for improvement. Conduct periodic reviews of student work to identify strengths and weaknesses, adjusting teaching strategies as needed. Ensure compliance with school policies and safety protocols, especially regarding lab practices and equipment handling.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates must hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a postgraduate qualification in Science. A TET or CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory. At least three years of teaching experience, preferably in a science stream, is required. Strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to nurturing young minds are essential.
