Responsibilities
Teach History at the senior secondary level, covering syllabi from NCERT and state boards. Design lesson plans that incorporate local history, ensuring relevance to students in Karnal and its surrounding areas. Assess student performance through continuous evaluation, aligning with school policies and government guidelines.
Prepare and present interactive classes, using visual aids like maps, timelines, and document-based questions to enhance understanding. Collaborate with the history department to organize cultural events, debates, and field trips that deepen students’ appreciation for historical narratives.
Maintain records of student progress, participate in curriculum development meetings, and ensure adherence to school’s academic standards. Support extracurricular activities related to history, such as model competitions or guest lectures by local historians.
Qualification
Hold a postgraduate degree in History with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A strong foundation in Indian history, including regional studies, is essential. Experience in teaching at the senior secondary level is preferred.
Experience
Proven expertise in teaching History for at least two years at a similar level. Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE/NIOS boards is advantageous. A passion for making history engaging and accessible to students is key.
Salary and Employment Type
