Science (PRT) Vacancy in Karnal, Haryana
MRP DAV Sr. Sec, School
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate PRT Science Teacher to join our educational team in a rural Tier 3 region. This role involves teaching fundamental science concepts to primary students (Classes 1 to 5), fostering a sense of curiosity about the natural world, and bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and practical local environment applications. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of teaching experience and a strong desire to contribute to the upliftment of rural education. This position requires a graduate degree in Science (B.Sc. or equivalent). Teaching Eligibility Test (TET) certification is not mandatory for this specific role.
2. Student Profile
The students in our institution primarily come from rural households and agricultural backgrounds. They are highly motivated, respectful, and eager to learn, though they may have limited exposure to modern scientific technology. Many students are first-generation learners in an English-medium or formal scientific setting. A successful teacher will need to be patient, culturally sensitive, and capable of explaining complex concepts using relatable, local examples to ensure every child feels included and capable of succeeding.
3. How to Apply (Daily Tasks)
To apply for this position, please ensure you are prepared to handle the following 8 to 10 daily tasks that form the core of this role:
- Preparing detailed daily lesson plans that align with the state or national curriculum.
- Conducting hands-on science experiments using locally available materials and low-cost teaching aids.
- Delivering 5 to 6 classroom sessions per day with a focus on student engagement.
- Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Checking student notebooks and providing constructive feedback on their progress.
- Supervising students during the mid-day break or school assembly to ensure safety.
- Organizing outdoor nature walks to help students identify local flora and fauna.
- Updating student attendance registers and academic progress reports daily.
- Collaborating with fellow teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary activities.
- Communicating with parents regarding student development through brief meetings or notes.
4. Primary Duties
The PRT Science Teacher is responsible for delivering the science curriculum effectively to ensure students meet academic benchmarks. Duties include designing formative and summative assessments, identifying students who need extra support, and implementing remedial teaching strategies. You will be expected to participate in school events, science fairs, and community outreach programs. Additionally, you will help maintain the school's basic science corner or lab, ensuring that all equipment is handled safely and effectively by the children.
5. Workplace Environment
Our school is located in a quiet, rural setting characterized by a strong sense of community. The workplace is professional yet familial, where teachers often collaborate across grade levels. Resources may be more modest than in urban centers, but there is significant creative freedom to design your own teaching aids. The staff is supportive, and the management is committed to improving the quality of life for both students and faculty in this Tier 3 location.
6. Institution Overview
We are a growing educational institution dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable education to the children of this rural district. Our mission is to empower the next generation with scientific literacy and critical thinking skills. We pride ourselves on being a pillar of the local community, serving as a hub for both academic and social development. We believe that every child, regardless of their geographic location, deserves a teacher who is invested in their future.
7. Work Environment
The physical work environment includes traditional classrooms with basic amenities. You will spend a significant portion of your day interacting with energetic young learners. The school operates on a standard six-day week (Monday to Saturday) with holidays as per the local academic calendar. Since this is a rural area, the atmosphere is less formal than a corporate city school, emphasizing personal connections and a shared commitment to the village's progress.
8. Application Process
Interested candidates who meet the 2-year experience requirement and hold a graduate degree should submit their resume and a brief cover letter via email to the school administration office. Alternatively, candidates may visit the school campus for a walk-in interview between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on working days. Please bring original copies of your educational certificates and experience letters.
Salary and Growth Opportunities:
The starting salary for this position ranges from 18,000 to 25,000 per month, depending on experience and interview performance. We provide semi-furnished shared accommodation near the school campus for outstation candidates.
Growth opportunities include promotion to TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) levels as the school expands, or moving into administrative roles such as Academic Coordinator or Head of Primary Section. We also provide annual performance-based increments and support for professional development workshops to enhance your teaching skills.
