About This Role
This is a senior English department role at D.a.v. Police Public School for an experienced English Teacher who can take ownership of the NTT English curriculum and guide students from Nursery to Class II. The position involves shaping foundational language skills in young learners while mentoring junior staff and contributing to board result improvements. Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate English lessons for NTT classes using phonics-based and activity-oriented methods aligned with CBSE guidelines. Maintain detailed records of student progress in reading, writing, and speaking skills to support individual learning plans.
Organize monthly English language festivals, storytelling sessions, and phonics workshops to build confidence and fluency among young learners. Collaborate with the English department to develop age-appropriate reading materials and digital resources for classroom use.
Monitor student performance in periodic assessments and provide timely feedback to parents through progress reports and one-to-one meetings. Support the head of department in organizing inter-house English recitation competitions and cultural events.
Conduct remedial sessions for students needing extra help in basic English comprehension and writing. Lead teacher-parent meetings to discuss student milestones and set learning goals for the next term.
Review and update the NTT English syllabus annually to incorporate best practices in early language teaching. Mentor newly joined English teachers by sharing lesson plans, classroom strategies, and assessment techniques.
Ensure all classroom activities comply with D.a.v. Police Public School’s safety and discipline policies. Work closely with the school counselor to identify students with language-related learning difficulties and recommend interventions.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in English or Education required. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in NTT or Lower Kindergarten with at least 2 years in a reputed school. B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree mandatory. TET/CTET qualification preferred.
Experience in designing phonics programs and conducting English language workshops for young children is highly desirable. Familiarity with CBSE’s early language curriculum and assessment frameworks is an advantage.
