The TGT Physical Education Teacher will oversee all aspects of sports and fitness activities, including organizing games, drills, and competitions. They will teach basic sports techniques, maintain equipment, and ensure safety standards are followed. Collaboration with other teachers will help integrate physical education into the curriculum, fostering a balanced learning experience.
Core Duties:
Teaching and Coaching: Design and conduct classes covering cricket, basketball, athletics, and other sports. Adapt lessons to suit different skill levels while encouraging participation. Ensure students follow proper techniques and safety protocols during activities.
Sports Management: Supervise sports events, tournaments, and inter-house competitions. Maintain inventory of sports equipment and report any damages or shortages promptly. Work with the principal to align sports programs with academic goals.
Student Development: Monitor student progress in physical fitness and sportsmanship. Provide feedback and motivation to students to improve their performance. Foster a positive and inclusive sports culture within the school.
Qualification and Experience:
A B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree is mandatory for this role, with a postgraduate qualification in Physical Education preferred. A TET or CTET certificate is highly recommended but not mandatory. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting, is required. Knowledge of Assamese language will be an added advantage.
