Modern International School in Nawada is seeking a dedicated PGT English Teacher to strengthen its English curriculum across senior classes. This role focuses on delivering high-quality language instruction, fostering critical thinking, and preparing students for competitive exams like JEE and NEET. Reporting to the English Department Head, this position involves direct supervision of lower-level English teachers and collaboration with subject coordinators to align lesson plans with school standards.
Core Duties
Teaching English as a core subject to students in grades 9 to 12, ensuring mastery of grammar, vocabulary, and literature. Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that incorporate contemporary English texts, poetry, and short stories relevant to Bihar’s cultural context.
Assessing students through continuous evaluation, including weekly quizzes, monthly exams, and project-based assessments to track progress toward school and board exam benchmarks. Maintaining detailed records of student performance to support academic growth and identify areas needing extra support.
Collaborating with other English teachers to share best practices, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to curriculum development for the school’s English program. Actively participating in extracurricular activities like literary clubs, debate teams, and annual essay competitions to enhance student participation.
Ensuring compliance with Modern International School’s policies on classroom management, student discipline, and adherence to the CBSE syllabus. Representing the school at parent-teacher meetings and community events to promote English language awareness in Nawada’s local community.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in English or a related field with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Minimum one year of teaching experience in a school setting, preferably in English or a similar subject. Possession of a TET or CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation and Location
The PGT English Teacher will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs.35,000 to Rs.55,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
