Leadership Expectations and Curriculum Ownership
- Develop and implement engaging Mathematics lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver a comprehensive Mathematics curriculum.
- Take ownership of the Mathematics department's curriculum development and implementation.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity in the Mathematics department.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior teachers and students.
Core Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics to students in grades 6-10, using a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
- Develop and implement innovative assessment strategies to evaluate student progress.
- Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to keep parents informed about their child's progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and progress reports.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures.
- Prepare and administer Mathematics tests and exams as per the school's schedule.
- Develop and implement extracurricular Mathematics activities to encourage student participation and interest.
What You Bring to the Table
- A postgraduate degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- A B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree is required for this position.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching Mathematics in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
