Avb Public School is inviting applications for a senior-level English Teacher position within the Nursery to Class 5 (NTT) segment in Mayur Vihar, East Delhi. Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate English lessons for NTT students using activity-based and phonics-driven methods. Ensure daily lesson plans align with Avb Public School’s thematic curriculum and cover listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Monitor student progress through informal assessments and maintain records of individual development.
Design and implement monthly English corner activities, storytelling sessions, and vocabulary-building games in the school’s Mayur Vihar campus. Collaborate with the Pre-Primary Head to integrate English with art, music, and movement for holistic learning. Prepare students for school events like annual day recitals and inter-house elocution competitions.
Mentor 2-3 junior English teachers through demonstration lessons, feedback sessions, and resource sharing. Conduct bi-weekly classroom observations and guide them on classroom management and student engagement techniques. Support new teachers in adapting to Avb Public School’s teaching philosophy and assessment protocols.
Take ownership of the English vertical for NTT classes, aligning content with NEP 2020 and CBSE early literacy guidelines. Curate age-appropriate readers, flashcards, and digital resources for the school library and classrooms. Recommend purchase of new teaching aids based on classroom needs in Mayur Vihar.
Prepare students for inter-school junior English quizzes and poetry recitation events. Coordinate with the activity coordinator to schedule and conduct practice sessions during zero period or activity slots. Represent Avb Public School at local teacher forums and cluster meetings to share best practices.
Analyze quarterly assessment data for NTT English and identify students needing intervention. Design simple remediation plans and conduct remedial classes for small groups during designated slots. Communicate progress to parents through notes, emails, and informal meetings at the school gate.
Who Can Apply
Graduates with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree and at least 5 years of full-time English teaching experience in the NTT segment are eligible. Candidates with prior experience in Mayur Vihar, East Delhi, or nearby areas like Laxmi Nagar and I.P. Extension will be given preference. TET/CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory for this role.
Experience in leading a small English team or heading a department at the pre-primary level is desirable. Familiarity with CBSE’s primary English syllabus and early literacy frameworks is essential. Knowledge of phonics programs like Jolly Phonics or similar is an added advantage.
