PGT History Teacher Job in East Delhi, Delhi | School Recruitment
Typical Working Week
Daily lessons form the core of the role, with each session designed to engage students through interactive discussions, primary source analysis, and contextual debates. Classroom management, assessment of student progress, and preparation of supplementary materials occupy the majority of the day. In addition, the teacher collaborates with colleagues to align curriculum objectives and share best practices. The role also includes supervising history clubs and coordinating field visits to local museums, enhancing experiential learning.
Recurring Responsibilities
The teacher is responsible for delivering the prescribed history syllabus, ensuring that each unit is taught with clarity and depth. Continuous assessment through quizzes, assignments, and projects is mandatory, with timely feedback to students and parents. Attendance records, lesson plans, and classroom observations are maintained in accordance with school policy. Weekly coordination meetings with the history department are held to discuss student performance trends and curricular adjustments. The teacher also participates in parent-teacher interactions, providing insights into student progress and addressing concerns.
Periodic Responsibilities
Every term, the teacher prepares and administers comprehensive examinations that evaluate knowledge of historical events, critical analysis, and research skills. Periodic curriculum reviews are conducted to incorporate contemporary historical perspectives and align with national educational standards. Qualifications and Experience
The role requires a post-graduate degree in History, a B.Ed or D.El.Ed, and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the PGT level. TET/CTET is preferred but not mandatory.
