About This Role
St. Columbo Public School is looking for a qualified NTT English Teacher to join our inclusive early years team in Rohini. The role involves creating a nurturing environment where every child, regardless of background, feels confident speaking and listening in English from the very beginning. Familiarity with Delhi’s diverse classroom dynamics is an advantage, as we blend local languages with structured English immersion.
Who You Will Teach
You will work with 3-6 year olds in the Nursery, Kindergarten, and Lower KG sections. Classes are small and mixed-ability, with learners from different linguistic homes—Hindi, Punjabi, and English. Your daily goal is to build foundational vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple sentence confidence so no child feels left behind.
Day-to-Day Duties
Prepare and conduct theme-based English circle time using rhymes, flashcards, and storytelling tailored to Rohini learners.
Use multi-sensory techniques—sand writing, picture cards, and role-play—to reinforce phonics and sight words for visual and kinesthetic learners.
Differentiate instruction through parallel tasks: one group may trace letters while another matches sounds to objects.
Maintain a daily observation log of each child’s progress in speaking and listening, shared weekly with parents.
Collaborate with the special educator to adapt activities for children with mild learning differences in the mainstream classroom.
Organize monthly English corner activities where children showcase rhymes or short dialogues for peers and parents.
Attend weekly curriculum planning meetings to align NTT English goals with the broader school literacy program.
Prepare low-cost teaching-learning materials from local resources—newspaper cuttings, fabric scraps, and recycled boxes.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized Indian university.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from NCTE-recognized institution.
Minimum two years of hands-on English teaching experience with 3-6 year olds in Delhi-NCR.
Preference for candidates who have completed TET or CTET, though not mandatory.
Fluency in spoken English and working knowledge of Hindi/Punjabi to support diverse learners.
