Core Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging chemistry lessons aligned with the curriculum. Assess student understanding through practical exams, projects, and periodic evaluations. Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress. Collaborate with the chemistry department to refine teaching methods and resources. Ensure compliance with school policies on academic standards and student safety.
Additional Duties
Participate in school-wide events and extracurricular activities related to chemistry, such as science fairs or workshops. Assist in organizing lab experiments and equipment maintenance to support hands-on learning. Contribute to curriculum development by suggesting improvements based on student feedback and evolving educational trends. Act as a mentor to junior teachers or students needing extra guidance in chemistry.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Chemistry or a related field. Possess a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification to teach at this level. Four years of relevant teaching experience in chemistry or a science subject is essential. Experience in managing advanced-level student groups is a plus. Familiarity with school management systems and academic reporting tools is beneficial.
