The PGT English Teacher will design and deliver engaging English lessons, covering grammar, literature, and language skills. Daily classroom management includes assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Participation in departmental planning sessions ensures alignment with school-wide academic goals. The teacher will also contribute to extracurricular activities such as literary clubs, debate teams, and cultural events to enrich student engagement. Regular parent-teacher interactions will help build strong communication channels and support student development. Collaboration with other subject teachers ensures cohesive curriculum integration across disciplines.
A postgraduate degree in English or a related field with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is essential for this role. Three years of teaching experience, preferably at the senior secondary level, is required. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly beneficial for career advancement. Strong communication skills, creativity in lesson planning, and a passion for fostering critical thinking in English are key attributes. Experience in using digital tools for language learning is a plus.
