About This Role
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced PGT History Teacher to join our faculty. As a History Teacher, you'll be responsible for teaching History to students in grades 9-12, developing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. You'll also be expected to participate in department meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and provide pastoral support to students.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Teach History to students in grades 9-12, as per the school curriculum
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
- Assess student progress through regular quizzes, tests, and assignments
- Provide pastoral support to students, including counseling and monitoring
- Participate in department meetings to discuss curriculum development and teaching strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Participate in school events and activities to foster a sense of community
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in History or a related field
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree required
- TET or CTET preferred, but not essential
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in History
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
