Lead the annual school concert and house music competitions, coordinating logistics, rehearsals, and adjudication. Collaborate with the Performing Arts coordinator to integrate Music with dance and drama productions.
Monitor student progress through periodic assessments and maintain updated portfolios for each learner. Identify students with exceptional talent and recommend them for advanced training or external certifications.
Contribute to the design of interdisciplinary projects linking Music with history, social science, and language classes. Prepare resource materials, worksheets, and audio-visual aids for effective teaching.
Organise parent-teacher sessions to explain curriculum goals, assessment patterns, and co-curricular opportunities in Music. Keep parents informed about upcoming performances and competitions.
Maintain inventory of musical instruments and equipment, coordinating with the administration for repairs or replacements. Ensure safety protocols are followed during practical sessions.
Document departmental activities, lesson plans, and student portfolios for internal audits and CBSE compliance.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Music (Vocal/Instrumental) with minimum 55% marks. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory. Candidates with TET/CTET or equivalent certification will be preferred.
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE-affiliated school with at least 2 years at the PGT level. Experience in curriculum development and department leadership is desirable.
Familiarity with CBSE Music syllabus for Classes 9 to 12 and experience in preparing students for board examinations. Knowledge of Hindustani, Carnatic, and Western music traditions is essential.
