Leadership opportunity
Hillwoods School invites applications for a PRT English Teacher with potential to lead the English department. This is a full-time role where you will shape young minds while building curriculum vision for primary and middle sections. The position offers a clear path toward Head of Department responsibilities for the right candidate.
Strategic responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Classes 1 to 8, aligning with CBSE frameworks and school academic goals. Design age-appropriate reading programs that foster phonics, vocabulary, and creative writing across all grades. Collaborate with subject heads to create cross-curricular projects that strengthen language skills in social studies and science.
Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide timely feedback to parents and coordinators. Organize inter-house elocution, spelling bee, and literary fest events to showcase student talent. Lead teacher reflection sessions and model best practices in classroom management and differentiated instruction. Support Hillwoods School’s inclusion policy by adapting materials for diverse learning needs.
What you bring
Graduate degree in English with minimum two years of teaching experience in primary or middle school. B.Ed or D.El.Ed required; TET/CTET preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior teachers and lead small academic teams within a school environment. Familiarity with CBSE English syllabus and local Gujarati school culture is an advantage.
Career trajectory and growth
Begin as PRT English Teacher with gradual assumption of department coordination duties. Attend Hillwoods School’s in-house leadership workshops and external English pedagogy courses. Take ownership of annual academic calendar for English, including assessments and enrichment activities. Progress to Head of English Department based on performance and institutional needs.
Compensation and benefits
Rs.18,000 – Rs.25,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Annual increment structure aligned with school policy. Access to professional development fund for approved courses. School transport facility available for staff residing in Gandhinagar.
