Daily responsibilities include preparing and delivering structured lessons, ensuring students grasp foundational and advanced Zoology topics. You will conduct practical sessions, often involving field trips to local ecosystems or wildlife reserves near Rajkot, to bring theory to life. Daily classroom management also includes maintaining discipline, addressing student queries, and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Regularly, you will design and implement unit assessments, aligning them with the school’s curriculum while ensuring students meet benchmark performance standards. Collaborate with the Science faculty to integrate interdisciplinary learning, such as connecting Zoology with environmental studies or health sciences. You will also participate in weekly planning meetings to refine lesson plans and teaching strategies, ensuring consistency in academic rigor.
Periodically, you will attend departmental reviews to assess teaching effectiveness and student progress. Conduct parent-teacher interactions to discuss student performance and areas for improvement. Additionally, prepare and update teaching resources, including lab manuals, PowerPoint presentations, and supplementary study materials, to support diverse learning styles.
For this PGT Zoology Teacher position, a postgraduate degree in Zoology or a related field is essential, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Four years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in high school or equivalent, is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly advantageous for career progression in Gujarat’s school system.
