Prepare daily lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum while incorporating interactive activities like debates, poetry recitals, and creative writing exercises. Monitor student progress through formative assessments and provide constructive feedback to ensure academic growth. Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and language fluency.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Collaborate with the English department to design and implement unit-based projects, such as literary analyses or cultural exchanges, to enhance student engagement. Attend weekly department meetings to discuss teaching strategies, curriculum updates, and student performance trends. Participate in school-wide events like literary fairs, elocution competitions, and guest lectures to promote English proficiency. Ensure compliance with school policies on assessment standards and grading practices.
Periodic Responsibilities
Conduct termly evaluations and prepare progress reports for students, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Organize periodic workshops or guest sessions with authors, poets, or language experts to enrich the curriculum. Maintain updated records of student achievements, attendance, and participation in extracurricular activities.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with at least three years of teaching experience in English at the secondary or higher secondary level. A TET/CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory. Strong subject knowledge in English literature, grammar, and creative writing is essential. Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE syllabi and modern pedagogical techniques is a plus.
