What You Will Do
1. Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for students to address academic stress, emotional issues, and social challenges.
2. Develop and implement preventive mental health programs aligned with school policies and CBSE guidelines.
3. Collaborate with class teachers and school management to identify students needing early intervention.
4. Maintain confidential student records and prepare periodic reports for the principal and senior leadership.
5. Organize workshops on topics such as exam anxiety, career planning, and digital wellness for students and parents.
6. Work closely with external mental health professionals for referrals when specialized care is required.
7. Support the school’s anti-bullying and inclusion initiatives through awareness and intervention strategies.
8. Assist in crisis situations by providing immediate emotional support and coordinating with families and authorities.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Psychology or Counselling Psychology from a recognized university is mandatory. Candidates must hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree as per Haryana school norms. Prior experience as a Psychological Counsellor in a school setting is required. Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management tools is necessary.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with CBSE counselling guidelines and adolescent mental health frameworks is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural and regional backgrounds are important. Experience in organizing parent-teacher-counsellor interactions is an added advantage.
