Dance (TGT) Vacancy in Faridabad, Haryana
G.D. Goenka Public School
Job Description
What It Is Like Here
G.d. Goenka Public School sits on the edge of Faridabad’s fast-growing academic belt where families from Delhi NCR choose schools that blend tradition with modern delivery. The dance faculty is small but tightly knit—three teachers handle classical, folk and contemporary streams for classes VI to X and share a corner studio with mirrored walls and sprung floors. After school, you’ll often see students practicing Kathak footwork under the mango tree outside while the tabla player warms up inside.
Role Summary
G.d. Goenka Public School invites applications for a full-time TGT Dance Teacher vacancy in Faridabad. The role is designed to nurture students from Grade VI to X in Indian classical and allied dance forms, aligning with CBSE’s performing arts syllabus and the school’s annual cultural calendar. You will be the only trained classical resource in the department for two sections, so your influence on stage performances and inter-house competitions is direct and visible.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver 18 contact hours weekly across Grades VI–X, ensuring lesson plans cover theory of rhythm, mudras and repertoire from Grade VI to X as per NCERT.
Choreograph two major annual productions—Annual Day and Inter-School Cultural Fest—while mentoring student leaders who assist with music cues and costume fittings.
Organize bi-monthly dance assemblies where students showcase pieces prepared in class, documenting progress through video logs for parent portals.
Collaborate with the music teacher to fuse instrumental pieces with dance sequences, especially for patriotic and folk items.
Conduct inter-house dance drills every Friday, selecting music that keeps energy high yet age-appropriate.
Maintain inventory of ghungroos, dupattas and audio tracks, reordering before each term starts.
Participate in monthly subject council meetings to align assessment rubrics and share student portfolios.
Attend parent orientation sessions twice a year to explain the grading system and upcoming performance themes.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university; a degree or diploma in dance will be an advantage.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with Dance as a teaching subject.
Minimum three years of classroom teaching experience in a K–10 school; experience with CBSE performing arts syllabus preferred.
Classical training in Kathak, Bharatanatyam or Odissi at intermediate level from a reputed guru; contemporary exposure desirable.
Working knowledge of Hindi and English sufficient for lesson planning and parent communication.
Salary and Benefits
Rs.40,000 – Rs.60,000 per month based on qualifications and experience.
Provident fund, group medical cover for self and dependents, and subsidized canteen meals.
Use of school transport for official duty travel to nearby event venues in Faridabad and Gurgaon.
Two sets of uniforms per year and an annual professional development grant of Rs.12,000 for workshops.
