Mathematics (PRT) Vacancy in Gurugram, Haryana
St Angels School
Job Description
Your Students
St Angels School serves the vibrant student community of Gurugram with families from diverse professional backgrounds. The children in your care are curious, energetic, and eager to connect mathematics to real-world problems they see around them. Your role is to transform abstract numbers and shapes into tangible understanding that excites them every day.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver daily Mathematics lessons for Grades 1 to 5, ensuring alignment with the NCERT curriculum and school pedagogy. Use locally relevant examples—budgeting pocket money, measuring distances to nearby markets, or calculating cricket scores—to make abstract concepts relatable. Maintain accurate lesson plans and student progress records as per school norms.
Assess student understanding through informal quizzes, hands-on activities, and periodic tests. Provide timely feedback and suggest simple remedial steps to parents during PTMs or via WhatsApp groups. Track weak areas and adjust teaching strategies accordingly, focusing on the most common misconceptions in early numeracy.
Organize monthly Mathematics corners or fairs where students display projects, puzzles, and math-based games. Encourage participation from students who feel anxious about numbers by creating low-pressure, collaborative tasks. Collaborate with the Art and Science teachers to integrate math into their projects, reinforcing cross-curricular learning.
Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement and clear routines. Use simple rewards like ‘Math Star of the Week’ certificates or small stationery gifts to motivate effort. Address disruptions calmly and document incidents as required by school policy.
Communicate regularly with parents through SMS updates, emails, and quick notes in student diaries. Share specific strategies parents can use at home to support their child’s math learning, such as counting coins or measuring ingredients while cooking. Attend monthly staff meetings and contribute ideas for school-wide academic events.

Graduate in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a recognized Indian institution. Valid TET/CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory for this Mathematics Teacher Vacancy in Gurugram. Minimum one year of classroom teaching experience in primary mathematics is essential.
