Daily Responsibilities
Teach core Home Science subjects, including food science, nutrition, and household management, using interactive and experiential learning methods. Prepare engaging lesson plans that align with school syllabi and student interests. Conduct hands-on workshops to demonstrate cooking techniques, fabric care, and basic sewing skills. Monitor student progress in practical assessments and provide constructive feedback.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and update teaching resources such as workbooks, project ideas, and lab demonstrations to enhance student understanding. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate Home Science concepts into interdisciplinary projects. Organize and participate in school events like food fairs, textile exhibitions, or health awareness campaigns. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation in Home Science activities.
Periodic Responsibilities
Assist in organizing school functions related to Home Science, such as cooking competitions or sustainability workshops. Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss student achievements and areas for improvement in Home Science skills. Review and approve student projects, ensuring they meet academic and practical standards.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Home Science with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, a valid teaching certificate is highly beneficial. Strong knowledge of Indian curriculum standards and practical application of Home Science principles is essential.
Salary and Location
