Physics (PGT) Vacancy in Yamunanagar, Haryana
S.S Public Sr. Sec. School
Job Description
The school community and culture
S.s Public Sr. Sec. School sits in the heart of Yamunanagar, where parents know every teacher by name and students walk through the gate with a sense of belonging. The corridors buzz with the sound of Hindi, Punjabi, and English mixing freely, reflecting the diversity of the city. Here, academic rigour meets everyday kindness; you will find senior students helping juniors with physics problems during lunch breaks and teachers staying late to coach the school cricket team.
What it's like to work here
You will teach in well-lit, airy classrooms equipped with smart boards and working lab set-ups for hands-on experiments. The staff room is less about hierarchy and more about sharing ideas over tea—whether it is a new way to explain projectile motion or a shortcut in the marking register. Festivals like Diwali and Baisakhi become school-wide celebrations, with classrooms decorated and teachers joining in the fun.
Your role in the community
As a Physics Teacher in the senior wing, you will plan daily lessons aligned to the CBSE curriculum and design quarterly unit tests that challenge yet encourage. Weekly lab sessions must be prepared in advance with clear safety protocols for experiments on optics or electricity. You will attend morning assembly to present science news in simple Hindi or English so every student feels included. Parent-teacher meetings happen every month, so you will prepare concise progress sheets and explain concepts to guardians patiently. The school encourages teachers to coach the Physics Olympiad team on weekends, and you may be asked to judge science fairs or inter-house quizzes. You will also contribute to the annual science exhibition by guiding students to build working models. Attendance registers and lesson plans must be submitted every Friday before 3 p.m. for the principal’s review. Occasional duty on sports day or annual function day is part of the rhythm here.
Who fits in here
You should hold a postgraduate degree in Physics and a B.Ed with at least three years of classroom experience in a senior secondary school. Knowledge of CBSE syllabus and comfort with both Hindi and English are essential. A calm demeanour, patience with mixed-ability groups, and willingness to mentor house captains or club leaders matter more than formal certificates. Experience with Olympiad coaching or lab innovation adds value.
What you get
The monthly salary ranges from Rs.35,000 to Rs.55,000 based on experience and qualifications. You will receive a provident fund contribution, group medical insurance for the family, and subsidised meals in the school canteen. Transport allowance for Yamunanagar city routes is provided.
How to become part of the team
Send your CV, scanned certificates, and two passport photographs to the school email address. Include a brief note on why you enjoy teaching Physics to Classes XI and XII. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a demo lesson and an informal chat with the principal and senior science staff.
