Who You Will Teach
You will teach Science to students across Grades 6 to 8, working with a diverse group that includes first-generation learners, children from varied socio-economic backgrounds, and students who need additional language or conceptual support. The classroom reflects the diversity of Kangra itself, and your pedagogy must be flexible enough to meet each learner where they are.
Day-to-Day Duties
Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned to NCERT Science syllabus for Classes 6 to 8, incorporating local examples such as apple farming or water conservation from the region.
Use differentiated instruction strategies—small group activities, visual aids, and hands-on experiments—to ensure all students grasp concepts like the water cycle or basic chemistry.
Conduct regular formative assessments through quizzes, observations, and simple experiments to monitor progress without adding stress.
Collaborate with the special education team to adapt worksheets, provide extra time, and use assistive tools for students with learning differences.
Organize monthly Science exhibitions or fairs where students present projects on topics like soil erosion or energy conservation in Kangra.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, marks, and anecdotal notes for each child to support parent-teacher meetings.
Participate in weekly departmental meetings to review student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Attend parent orientation sessions to explain the Science curriculum and suggest ways families can support learning at home.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed in Science or related field from a recognized Indian university. Minimum four years of full-time teaching experience in secondary Science is required. TET or CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates familiar with CBSE or ICSE syllabi and experienced in inclusive classrooms will be given preference.
