Shivalik Scholars School | Solan is looking for an Academic Counsellor in Baddi, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The full‑time role involves guiding students and parents through academic pathways, admissions processes and career planning while supporting the school’s administrative objectives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one‑on‑one counselling sessions with students and parents to assess academic goals and recommend suitable streams.
- Coordinate with senior management to develop and update school admission policies and procedures.
- Organise orientation programmes, open houses and information workshops for prospective families.
- Maintain accurate student records, counselling reports and follow‑up logs in the school management system.
- Analyse enrolment trends and provide actionable insights to improve student retention.
- Liaise with external education consultants, exam boards and scholarship providers.
- Assist in the preparation of promotional material and digital content for the school’s outreach activities.
- Handle student grievances related to academic planning and ensure timely resolution.
Qualification
Must Have
- Graduate degree in any discipline (preferably B.Ed or D.El.Ed).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in academic counselling or student support services.
Good to Have
- TET/CTET certification is a plus.
- Exposure to school admission processes in the Himachal Pradesh region.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage students, parents and staff.
- Good analytical skills for interpreting data and preparing reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office and school management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Organizational talent with a focus on detail and follow‑through.
- Empathetic approach with problem‑solving orientation.
Salary and location
Salary: Rs.25,000 – Rs.35,000 per month.
