Daily Responsibilities
Plan and deliver biology lessons aligned with the curriculum, ensuring clarity and engagement for students. Conduct practical sessions, including dissections and lab work, to reinforce theoretical knowledge. Monitor student progress in biology-related assessments and provide timely feedback. Prepare lesson plans, notes, and teaching aids tailored to different learning levels.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Coordinate with the biology department to update syllabi and resources based on recent educational trends. Attend parent-teacher meetings to discuss student performance and areas for improvement. Organize extracurricular biology activities, such as science fairs or workshops, to foster curiosity. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and participation in biology-related projects.
Periodic Responsibilities
Participate in school-wide biology department meetings to discuss teaching strategies and curriculum updates. Collaborate with other science teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and collaborative lesson plans. Ensure compliance with school policies on safety standards, especially during lab activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Biology or a related science subject along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A TET/CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in biology or science subjects, is required. Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for nurturing scientific curiosity are essential.
