Job Description
PRT Art and Craft Teacher Position at R P School, Nagbal
We are looking for a dedicated PRT to join the Art and Craft department at R P School, Nagbal, in Ganderbal. This role involves inspiring young minds with creative skills while ensuring hands-on learning through practical projects. The teacher will work closely with students in grades from primary to upper primary, fostering an environment where imagination and craftsmanship take center stage.
The Art and Craft teacher at R P School will be responsible for designing engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum while encouraging individual creativity. Daily activities will include guiding students through various techniques—such as painting, pottery, woodwork, and textile arts—using age-appropriate materials and tools. The teacher must ensure that every session blends theory with practical application, ensuring students develop both technical skills and artistic expression.
Assessment and evaluation form a key part of this role. The teacher will regularly observe students’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain detailed records of their work. Grading will be based on creativity, effort, and application of techniques, with a focus on encouraging innovation rather than perfection. Portfolios of student projects will be reviewed periodically to track growth and identify areas for improvement.
Classroom management is equally important. The PRT will need to maintain a structured yet flexible learning environment, ensuring all students participate actively. This includes adapting activities for students with different skill levels and addressing any challenges they face in learning new techniques. Patience, clear communication, and a supportive attitude will be essential in helping students overcome difficulties.
Collaboration with other teachers and the school management team is also part of the role. The Art and Craft teacher will attend staff meetings, participate in curriculum discussions, and share best practices with colleagues. They may also be involved in organizing school events, such as art exhibitions or workshops, to showcase students’ work and promote the subject’s importance.
Professional development is encouraged. The teacher should stay updated on new trends in Art and Craft education, attend workshops, and seek opportunities for continuous learning. While the institution does not require TET/CTET certification for this role, having a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree will be highly beneficial. A graduate background in a relevant field, along with at least three years of teaching experience, will be ideal for this position.
The salary for this full-time PRT position at R P School, Nagbal, ranges from Rs.18,000 to Rs.30,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience. The role offers a chance to make a lasting impact on students’ artistic growth while contributing to a vibrant and creative learning community.
