Daily Responsibilities
Plan and conduct engaging economics lessons, ensuring alignment with the school’s curriculum and latest syllabus updates. Prepare interactive classroom activities, case studies, and real-world examples to illustrate economic concepts effectively. Monitor student progress in economics, providing timely feedback and additional support where needed. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate economics topics into interdisciplinary projects, enhancing cross-curricular learning.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and maintain lesson plans, assessments, and evaluation tools tailored to different ability levels in the Economics stream. Act as a mentor to junior teachers, offering guidance on teaching methodologies and best practices in economics education. Participate in school-wide academic events, including workshops, seminars, and competitions related to economics and finance. Ensure compliance with school policies and maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Periodic Responsibilities
Prepare and submit periodic progress reports on student achievements, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Collaborate with the principal and department heads to review and update the Economics curriculum, incorporating new economic trends and global developments. Attend departmental meetings to discuss teaching strategies, resource allocation, and long-term academic goals.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a postgraduate qualification in Economics or a related field. Possess at least four years of teaching experience, preferably in high school Economics or a similar subject. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, a strong preference will be given to candidates with relevant teaching qualifications. Experience in teaching students from diverse backgrounds is a plus.
