Day-to-Day Duties
As a PRT Social Science Teacher, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Preparing and delivering high-quality Social Science lessons to students in grades 6-10
- Assessing student progress and providing regular feedback to students and parents
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
- Conducting regular parent-teacher meetings to keep parents informed about their child's progress
- Collaborating with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide events and activities
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance
- Participating in school-wide professional development programs to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Contributing to the overall well-being and development of students, including their social, emotional, and academic growth
- Participating in school events and activities to promote a sense of community and inclusivity
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Science or a related field
- A valid B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. degree
- A strong passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to student-centered education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience teaching Social Science to students in grades 6-10
- Familiarity with curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Strong knowledge of Social Science concepts and theories
