About This Role
Day-to-Day Duties
- Teach Chemistry to students in grades 9-12, using a range of teaching methods to engage students and promote learning.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, including those with special needs.
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare and administer Chemistry lab experiments and activities.
- Develop and implement project-based learning activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching Chemistry.
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Chemistry or a related field (M.Sc., M.A.)
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of Chemistry curriculum and assessment methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
