Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver and assess Political Science lessons for classes IX to XII, ensuring alignment with the state curriculum and fostering critical thinking about governance, democracy and current affairs.
Prepare teaching aids, presentations and classroom resources that make complex political concepts accessible to adolescents.
Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive feedback to learners and parents.
Day‑to‑Day Activities
Design lesson plans for the week, incorporate interactive discussions, debates and case studies, and guide students through textbook chapters and supplementary readings.
Facilitate classroom discussions that encourage students to analyse political events, evaluate policies and develop informed opinions.
Monitor student attendance, address classroom discipline calmly, and support learners who need extra help through remedial sessions or one‑on‑one guidance.
Recurring Responsibilities
Update and maintain a repository of teaching materials, quizzes and model answers for examinations.
Participate in periodic staff meetings, curriculum review committees and professional development workshops organized by the institute.
Collaborate with colleagues from other subjects to integrate interdisciplinary projects, such as linking political theory with history or economics.
Periodic Responsibilities
Organise and supervise annual political science exhibitions, model United Nations simulations or debate competitions that showcase student talent.
Prepare comprehensive end‑of‑term reports, analyse class performance trends and suggest improvements to the academic board.
Contribute to the school’s admission counseling by presenting the Political Science stream to prospective students and parents during open houses.
Qualifications
Post‑graduate degree in Political Science or a related discipline.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory.
TET/CTET certification preferred but not mandatory.
Desired Attributes
Strong grasp of Indian political systems, current affairs and constitutional law.
Ability to communicate concepts clearly in both English and Urdu/Hindi.
Enthusiasm for nurturing analytical skills and civic awareness among teenagers.
