About This Role
This is a senior English teaching position at D.m. Public School where you will lead the English department for TGT classes. You will shape how students in Grades 6 to 8 engage with literature, grammar, and writing. Overseeing curriculum delivery and student outcomes will be your primary responsibility. The role offers a pathway to a Vice-Principal position for those who demonstrate leadership.
Day-to-Day Duties
Plan and deliver daily English lessons aligned with CBSE guidelines for TGT classes in Dhanbad. Monitor class 8 board results and set yearly targets for English scores across Grades 6 to 8. Conduct regular assessments and provide feedback to students and parents during PTMs.
Design and implement remedial programs for students scoring below 40% in English assessments. Mentor junior English teachers by sharing lesson plans and conducting demo classes. Organize inter-house English debates and elocution competitions every term.
Coordinate with the school librarian to update the English section with age-appropriate books. Collaborate with the IT coordinator to integrate digital tools like Spoken Tutorials and Khan Academy for English practice. Represent the school in regional English teacher forums organized by Jharkhand State Council of Educational Research and Training.
Eligibility Criteria
Post-graduate degree in English with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university. B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a NCTE-approved institution is mandatory. TET or CTET certification will be preferred during selection.
Three years of full-time English teaching experience at the secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated school. Prior experience in curriculum planning and board result improvement will be an advantage. Familiarity with Jharkhand Board syllabus is desirable but not essential.
Learning and Development
Attend monthly subject-specific workshops conducted by Jharkhand Council for Teacher Education. Participate in leadership training programs organized by CBSE in Ranchi for potential Vice-Principal roles. Present papers on innovative English teaching methods at state-level conferences.
Work closely with the school’s academic coordinator to refine the English curriculum for TGT classes. Receive mentorship from the current Vice-Principal on administrative and academic leadership. Complete an online certificate course in Classroom Management from IGNOU or similar institutions.
Perks and Pay
Salary ranges from Rs.20,000 to Rs.42,000 per month based on experience and qualifications. D.m. Public School provides PF, gratuity, and group medical insurance for full-time staff. Professional development allowances are available for approved courses and conferences.
