About This Role
As a PGT Botany Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Botany to senior secondary students. You will be expected to prepare and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and provide feedback to help students improve. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing the Botany curriculum, conducting experiments, and maintaining a well-organized classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lessons on Botany to senior secondary students
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to help students improve
- Develop and implement the Botany curriculum
- Conduct experiments and demonstrations to illustrate Botany concepts
- Maintain a well-organized classroom and manage resources effectively
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver lessons
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to school development
- Evaluate and improve teaching methods and materials
- Provide support to students with special needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Required Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree in Botany or a related field
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed certification
- TET or CTET certification (not required but preferred)
- 3 years of teaching experience in senior secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge and teaching skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
