Job Description
The selected teacher will plan and deliver the Physics curriculum for Classes XI and XII, ensuring coverage of mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics and modern physics topics as prescribed by the board. Lesson plans must incorporate practical demonstrations, laboratory experiments and problem‑solving sessions to develop analytical skills. Assessment responsibilities include preparing unit tests, term examinations and practical evaluation sheets, followed by timely marking and feedback. The teacher will maintain the physics laboratory, checking equipment safety, preparing experiment kits and guiding students through hands‑on activities. Coordination with the head of department and senior faculty will be required to align teaching schedules, participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the preparation of school‑wide academic reports.
Additional duties involve mentoring a small group of students for science fairs or Olympiads, organizing revision classes before board examinations and supporting co‑curricular initiatives that promote scientific inquiry. The teacher is expected to uphold the school’s code of conduct, attend staff development sessions when scheduled and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
Qualifications
- Post‑graduate degree in Physics or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level.
