Responsibilities
The role involves planning and delivering music lessons for primary classes in accordance with the school’s curriculum. Lessons cover basic vocal training, rhythm exercises, introduction to Indian classical and folk music, and simple instrumental basics using classroom‑available resources. The teacher prepares weekly lesson plans, creates age‑appropriate activity sheets, and assesses student progress through observations and periodic performance assessments. Classroom management includes maintaining a disciplined yet encouraging environment during rehearsals and performances. Coordination with senior staff for school cultural events, annual day functions and inter‑school music competitions is required, as is the organization of student showcases to develop confidence and stage presence. The teacher maintains records of attendance, lesson outcomes and inventory of musical instruments, and reports to the Head of Department on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in any discipline.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably in music or related arts at the primary level.
- Demonstrated proficiency in vocal and instrumental instruction suitable for young learners.
