Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced PGT Geography Teacher to join our team at St. Michael’s School in Rahe, Ranchi, Jharkhand. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students and inspiring them to explore the world of Geography. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Geography to students from classes 9 to 12 and contributing to the development of our school's curriculum and assessment methods.

Day-to-Day Duties

- Teach Geography to students from classes 9 to 12, using innovative and engaging teaching methods to promote student understanding and enthusiasm for the subject.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans, assessments, and other educational materials to meet the needs of our students.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust instruction to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum changes, improve instructional methods, and enhance student outcomes.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events to maintain open communication and build relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Stay current with developments in Geography education, including new research, technologies, and teaching methods.
- Supervise students during extracurricular activities, such as field trips, projects, and competitions.
- Contribute to the school's curriculum development and assessment process, including the design and implementation of new courses and programs.
- Participate in school events, such as parent-teacher meetings, staff development programs, and curriculum fairs.

Required Qualifications

- Postgraduate degree (M.A., M.Sc.) in Geography or a related field from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. degree from a recognized university.
- TET/CTET certification (desirable but not essential).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a school setting.
- Excellent subject knowledge, teaching skills, and communication abilities.
