Role Summary
Sri Aurobindo Memorial School Bengaluru is inviting applications for the Yoga Teacher position in Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka. This role involves designing and implementing a comprehensive yoga program for students from grades 1 to 12, ensuring alignment with the school’s holistic development philosophy. The Yoga Teacher will oversee the daily yoga sessions, maintain attendance records, and coordinate with the sports and wellness department to integrate yoga into the broader health curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the planning and execution of daily yoga sessions across all grade levels, ensuring age-appropriate asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques are followed. Coordinate with the school’s administrative team to schedule yoga classes, allocate resources, and manage the yoga studio space efficiently.
Monitor student progress in yoga practice through regular assessments and provide feedback to parents during PTMs. Organize quarterly yoga workshops and demonstrations for students, teachers, and parents to promote wellness awareness in the Sri Aurobindo Memorial School Bengaluru community.
Train and mentor junior yoga instructors or assistants, ensuring they adhere to the school’s safety and hygiene protocols during sessions. Maintain inventory of yoga mats, props, and other equipment, placing orders for replacements or upgrades as needed.
Document attendance, participation, and performance data for each student in the school’s ERP system to track improvements over the academic year. Collaborate with the school’s counselor to identify students who may benefit from specialized yoga sessions for stress relief or focus enhancement.
Who Can Apply
Graduates in Yoga Science, Naturopathy, or a related field with a minimum of three years of experience in yoga instruction are eligible to apply. Certification from a recognized yoga institution such as the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga or equivalent is mandatory.
Familiarity with school environments, especially in Bengaluru Urban, and experience working with children in wellness programs will be considered an advantage. Prior administrative experience in managing yoga programs or sports activities within a school setting is desirable.

The selected candidate will receive on-the-job training in Sri Aurobindo Memorial School Bengaluru’s wellness curriculum and assessment methodologies. Opportunities to attend national-level yoga conferences and workshops will be provided to enhance professional growth.
Long-term career progression may include roles such as Head of Wellness, Sports Coordinator, or administrative positions within the school’s health and fitness departments. Participation in UGC-recognized short-term courses in yoga therapy or stress management can further support advancement.
