Analog Electronics - Professor Vacancy in Udupi, Karnataka
Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management
Job Description
Role Summary
Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute Of Technology & Management is seeking a senior faculty member to lead the Analog Electronics specialization within its growing Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The role carries full responsibility for curriculum leadership, research guidance, and academic mentorship at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The position is designed for an experienced professional who can blend deep theoretical knowledge with practical circuit-design expertise to prepare students for industry and higher studies.
What It Is Like Here
The institute prides itself on a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on innovation. Modern classrooms equipped with high-end oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and PCB prototyping stations allow faculty to demonstrate real-world circuit behavior. Research centers such as the Analog Signal Processing Lab and the Embedded Systems Design Hub provide space for faculty-led projects and student capstone work. Digital classrooms with interactive whiteboards and cloud-based simulation tools support flipped-classroom pedagogy.
Day-to-Day Duties
Teaching responsibilities include delivering Analog Electronics courses at B.Tech and M.Tech levels, designing laboratory experiments, and setting examination papers. Each faculty member is assigned a cohort of students for academic advising, guiding them through project selection, internship placements, and career planning. Active participation in board-of-studies meetings, syllabus revisions, and accreditation documentation is expected. Contributing to institute-level committees on curriculum, research, and industry partnerships forms part of the role. Supervising doctoral scholars and guiding their thesis work in analog IC design or low-power analog systems is a key expectation. Organizing guest lectures by practicing engineers from Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, or local startups keeps the curriculum aligned with industry needs. Overseeing the maintenance and upgrade of analog lab equipment and simulation software licenses ensures continuity of practical learning.
Who Can Apply
A Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized Indian university or an institution of equivalent standing is mandatory. Candidates with a strong publication record in analog circuit design, low-power IC design, or sensor interface circuits will be preferred. Industry experience in analog design, verification, or application engineering of at least five years adds significant value. Exposure to EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, LTspice, or PSPICE is desirable. Familiarity with FPGA-based analog signal processing or IoT sensor front-end design is a plus.
Learning and Development
Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute Of Technology & Management encourages faculty to build global networks through collaborations with universities in Germany, Singapore, or the United States. Seed grants and matching funds are available to support international conference participation in venues such as IEEE ISCAS, ICECS, or APCCAS. Sabbatical leave of up to one year is supported for advanced research or industry immersion. Internal seed funds of up to Rs. 2.5 lakh are available for exploratory analog design projects. Participation in short-term courses at IITs or foreign universities is encouraged and financially supported.
Salary and Benefits
The monthly gross salary for this Analog Electronics PROFESSOR position ranges from Rs.70,000 to Rs.95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Comprehensive health insurance for the employee and dependents, a defined-contribution provident fund with employer matching, and subsidized on-campus housing for eligible candidates are part of the benefits package. Professional development allowances cover conference travel, journal publication charges, and short courses. The institute also provides an annual book and software allowance to support continuous learning.
