What You Will Do
Teach foundational and advanced courses in history to undergraduate students at Azim Premji Universitys Bhopal Campus. Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials that align with the university’s curriculum and pedagogical approach. Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments to ensure comprehensive learning outcomes.
Contribute to the design and implementation of postgraduate level courses in history. Collaborate with faculty members to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives in history teaching. Engage in curriculum development to keep pace with evolving academic standards and research trends.
Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development programs, and academic committees. Provide academic mentorship to students and guide them in research projects and dissertations. Foster an inclusive and participatory classroom environment that encourages student engagement and intellectual growth.
Postgraduate Students
Guide postgraduate students in selecting research topics and methodologies for their master level courses. Supervise dissertations and thesis work to ensure academic rigor and originality. Encourage students to present their findings in seminars and conferences to build confidence and academic skills.
Organize workshops and guest lectures to expose students to diverse historical perspectives and research methodologies. Facilitate field visits and archival research to provide practical exposure to historical studies. Collaborate with other departments to offer interdisciplinary perspectives in postgraduate history courses.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in History with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. A valid UGC-NET or SLET qualification is required if the Ph.D. is not completed. Publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation in academic conferences will be given preference.
Experience of at least 4 years in teaching history at the undergraduate or postgraduate level is mandatory. Familiarity with modern pedagogical tools and digital resources for history teaching is desirable. Knowledge of local and regional history, particularly in the context of Madhya Pradesh, is an added advantage.
