Key Responsibilities
Teach age-appropriate Computer Science concepts using activity-based learning and age-friendly tools. Plan weekly lessons covering basic programming logic, hardware awareness, and digital safety through storytelling and hands-on projects. Differentiate instruction to support students with learning differences and those needing extra challenge.
Support students with limited prior exposure to technology through peer mentoring and visual step-by-step guides. Collaborate with PRTs in other subjects to integrate Computer Science into broader themes like math or environmental studies. Maintain a safe, orderly lab environment with clear usage rules and hygiene practices for shared devices.
Track progress through informal observations and simple project assessments, sharing feedback with parents during PTMs. Organize monthly computer appreciation events where students showcase their projects to build confidence. Prepare students for inter-school tech fairs by guiding them through simple app or game prototypes.
Who Can Apply
Graduates with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification and three years of teaching experience are eligible to apply. Prior experience teaching Computer Science to young children is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates familiar with block-based coding tools like Scratch or Code.org will be given preference.
