Responsibilities
Teach As Level Economics at a rigorous international curriculum level, ensuring students grasp core theories through interactive lectures, case studies, and practical exercises. Develop engaging lesson plans that blend theoretical knowledge with contemporary economic issues, encouraging critical debate and problem-solving skills. Assess student progress through continuous evaluation, including exams, projects, and classroom participation, while maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with the economics department to design interdisciplinary activities that connect economic concepts to global challenges, such as trade policies, inflation, and development economics. Participate in school-wide initiatives, including parent-teacher meetings and curriculum reviews, to ensure alignment with international standards and student development goals.
Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field, with a postgraduate qualification in Economics or Business Studies preferred. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree is essential for teaching at this level. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, experience in teaching economics at the secondary or higher secondary level is highly valued. Demonstrate a strong command of English to effectively communicate complex economic concepts to diverse learners.
Experience
Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting where you’ve worked with students preparing for As Level Economics examinations. Experience in designing assessments, managing classroom engagement, and adapting teaching methods for different learning styles is a plus. Familiarity with international curricula, such as those used by IB or Cambridge, would be advantageous.
Salary and Employment
